Aramai,
located in the Poble Nou - an area that is bound to be the future playground of Barcelona hipsters – is the creation of two
Venezuelan chefs. Riding the wave of global fusion food, the culinary duo
prepares delicacies inspired by both Latin American and Mediterranean cuisine.
Given their predilection for inventive dishes, the chefs do not shy away from
other influences either, resulting in a cosmopolitan menu that reflects the
globetrotting character of its creators.
Cuisine:
fusion / international.
Typical
dishes: puff pastry stuffed with goat cheese and raspberry marmalade, plantain
with deep-fried mozzarella, beef sirloin steak, salmon marinated in white wine,
flambéed caramel crepe.
Atmosphere/décor:
a warm, welcoming place with very friendly staff. The space is divided into two
levels; the restaurant is a relaxing spot in which to enjoy a delicious meal,
whereas the bar is lively and perfect for a few drinks in the company of good
friends. Both areas are tastefully and stylishly decorated, and the owners'
good taste is apparent in all the details, from the carefully selected
ingredients to the excellent music playing in the background.
