A true gem of Catalan art nouveau, the Fundación Francisco Godia is a dream come true for any art lover. Located in the Casa Garriga Nogués, a stunning building in the famed Eixample district, the foundation's centre piece is the art collection that Francisco Godia carefully and lovingly put together throughout his lifetime. A fascinating personality, Paco Godia was a brilliant businessman, art collector and passionate race car driver. Finding a location where guests can stroll through magnificent rooms decked out in medieval statuary, baroque and art nouveau paintings before sitting down to an exquisite meal or stepping outside for a glass of wine or cocktail on a chic terrace is no easy task. In fact, the Fundación Godia might well be the only place in Barcelona that combines such an array of refined options. Guests arrive at the centrally located building (half a block from the lush, tree-lined Rambla de Catalunya and less than 5 minutes from Plaza Catalunya) and step into an elegant foyer with a sweeping staircase leading to the first floor. Light streams in through the atrium's skylight, adding to the luminosity of the marble steps and columns. The same classic elegance defines the spaces available for events.

MAIN FLOOR

The rooms on the first floor were once home to the family of banker Rupert Garriga Miranda and now house the permanent art collection. The fine interior decoration dating from the turn of the last century was restored with great care, bringing all of its exquisite details back to life. The original ceilings are artworks in and of themselves, the enormous stained glass landscape window is breathtaking, the main hall is appointed with green marble columns and gilded bronze capitals. In short, a space that will leave a lasting impression on your guests.

Furthermore, this level leads out to a modern terrace with thick hedges and views onto a typical interior courtyard of the Eixample district. Perfect for a welcome cocktail or hors d'oeuvres.

GROUND FLOOR

The ground floor, which includes the foyer and the temporary exhibition hall, is a harmonious encounter between contemporary and old-world aesthetics. The gallery is an open-plan space in luminous white with tall, iron columns. The foundation uses the space for temporary exhibitions of other private collections. A space that will give any event the right touch of modern sophistication.
